Sunday 14 December 2025

4.30 – 6.30pm

Heidelberg Scots Uniting Church

187 Burgundy Street, Heidelberg

We’ll be celebrating Christmas and looking at the story in the Gospel of Luke where an angel appears to Mary and surprises her with the news that she will give birth to a baby, Jesus. We’ll have a bumper set of activities to explore the story, including some joy prayers we’ll be writing on fabric stars which will be made into a Christmas quilt after Messy Church.

There’ll be yummy food to make, lots of angel activities, a big bubble competition outside, some special artwork to reflect on and the list goes on…

We’ll be sharing in a Christmas meal, and we’re inviting you to bring along a small plate of Christmas food that’s traditional or special in your family!
(Note we generally avoid nuts and have some gluten free dietaries in our community)

(Note: we are gathering at Heidelberg Scots, not Ivanhoe!)

Contact Bethany for more details.

The Messy Church Community had a great time catching up at Possum Hollow Park on 19 October, and enjoying God’s creation at Warringal Parklands, the nearby bushland reserve.

Along the way we left our worries on paperbark, our thanks on gum leaves and our ‘sorries’ in the Yarra River, knowing that no matter our worries, thanks or sorries, nothing in the whole world can change God’s love for us.

If you missed out on Messy Church and would like to head down and do the walk yourself or with your family, we’ve created an easy guide so you can follow the path we took. Or, head down to the park and make your own path! You can download the guide here.

Big thanks to Cathie for her beautiful ideas for our prayer walk and to everyone for coming.
