Ivanhoe Centenary Celebrations
Sunday 26 October 2025
Although the Ivanhoe congregation was established in 1893, the current building was erected in 1925 and the first service held on 24 October of that year.
To commemorate the centenary of worship in this building, a day of celebrations will be held on Sunday 26 October 2025 at the Ivanhoe Uniting Church at 15 Seddon Street, Ivanhoe.
The program will include: –
- Network Service at 10am, led by Rev Joan Wright-Howie
- Lunch
- Memorabilia display
- Musical Event at 2pm
Members at Ivanhoe are excited about the day and extend a warm invitation to all to join in what should be a wonderful celebration.

The Mural
The mural, so prominent in the church, was not there when the church was opened.
Ten years later, Mr Henry William Hackett, a trustee of the congregation, who worked in the finance industry commissioned the mural in memory of his late father and mother.
One of the stained-glass windows in the south east corner of the church commemorates Hackett who died in 1927.
The mural was painted by Mr. L. G. McPherson and was dedicated 8 September 1935.
